Good you could be there! It was Clive Holtham's idea to use the format of getting people to vote on six statements (based on the "myths" at the start of each chapter of "Monkeys with Typewriters"). We were in that "Le Web" situation of not having decent wifi in the auditorium, so the handheld voting gadgets enabled some degree of interaction. Although, as you say, there was sometimes some confusion over what the statement actually meant, the fact that everyone dissected and discussed each one was hopefully useful!
